The 2025 Stanbic Entebbe Open will tee off October 5–9 with a record prize pool and new perks for players and fans.
Organisers confirmed on Thursday that prize money has been raised across all categories, with professionals now set to compete for 50 million shillings, up from last year’s 40 million. The men’s and women’s gross winners will each play for 15 million, tripling last year’s purse.
Eng. Jacob Byamukama, chairman of Entebbe Club, unveiled the boost during a press briefing at UMOJA House in Nakasero. He said the increase reflects the tournament’s growth and its role in attracting top talent from Uganda and beyond.
Stanbic Bank, the event’s title sponsor, also announced exclusive rewards for customers, players, and guests who use Stanbic FlexiPay or cards during the week. These include discounts on green fees, drinks, and other refreshments.
“This is one of the many ways we continue to make banking more convenient, rewarding, and digital,” said Stanbic’s Apell. “Sport builds discipline, wellness, teamwork, and community, all aligned with our purpose: Uganda is our home; we drive her growth.”
This year’s edition will pair golf with high-level networking. The annual East African Business Summit cocktail will run alongside the tournament for the first time, culminating in a joint closing dinner at the famed 19th Hole.
The event will again feature a community angle. Through a partnership with Entebbe Hospital, Stanbic and Entebbe Club plan corporate social responsibility activities, extending a relationship first forged during the Stanbic Match Play Challenge earlier this year.
More than 300 golfers and guests are expected at the historic lakeside Entebbe Golf Club, promising four days of competition, entertainment, and a lively 19th hole experience.
