Harry Kane continued his sensational scoring run, netting twice as rampant Bayern Munich crushed Champions League debutants Pafos 5-1 on Tuesday.
The England captain opened the scoring after 15 minutes, setting off a swift four-goal blitz in Cyprus. Raphaël Guerreiro (20′) and loanee Nicolas Jackson (31′) added to the tally before Kane completed his brace just before the 35-minute mark.
Midfielder Michael Olise was instrumental, assisting twice before scoring Bayern’s final goal in the 68th minute. Pafos, playing their first-ever home game in the main phase, managed a consolation goal just before the break through a spectacular strike from Mislav Oršić (45′).
The brace brings Kane’s season tally to 17 goals in just nine club matches.
The comprehensive victory means Bayern maintain their perfect start to the campaign, winning all nine matches played across all competitions and securing two wins from two in the Champions League group stage.
