Excitement for the FIFA World Cup 26 reached a new high today as FIFA and adidas revealed TRIONDA, the Official Match Ball for the biggest edition of the tournament yet.
Designed to reflect the historic moment when Canada, Mexico and the United States come together as joint hosts, TRIONDA is more than just a football, it is a symbol of unity, innovation and the global spirit of the game.
A ball inspired by three nations
The name TRIONDA, meaning “three waves” in Spanish, captures both the energy of the sport and the unprecedented union of three countries. Its red, green and blue colour palette mirrors the flags of the host nations, while gold detailing honours the FIFA World Cup Trophy.
Distinctive national symbols, the maple leaf of Canada, the eagle of Mexico, and the star of the United States, are carefully embossed into the design.
At the centre, a triangular shape formed by the ball’s four-panel structure serves as a permanent reminder of this unique collaboration.
Precision engineering and cutting-edge technology
TRIONDA is built for the world’s biggest stage, combining artistry with performance.
Four-panel construction with deep seams ensures consistent flight and reliable aerodynamics.
Embossed micro-textures enhance grip and control, even in wet or humid conditions.
Connected Ball Technology returns, with a 500Hz motion sensor inside the ball providing real-time data to match officials, supporting decisions such as offsides with unmatched accuracy.
This blend of heritage, design and technology continues the tradition of adidas match balls that have become icons of every FIFA World Cup.
A proud moment for FIFA
FIFA President Gianni Infantino hailed the new ball as a defining symbol of next year’s competition.
“The Official Match Ball for the FIFA World Cup 26 is here, and it’s a beauty! adidas have once again created something iconic, with a design that embodies the unity and passion of our host nations. I can’t wait to see TRIONDA hitting the back of the net. The countdown to the greatest FIFA World Cup ever is on, and the ball is rolling!”
