Just months after stepping down, Mr. Deo Kasozi has returned to Kitara, resuming his role as club President for another three-year term.
Kasozi confirmed his comeback on Friday, saying his focus is on steering the Pride of Bunyoro to greater heights. “I am back to serve Kitara and help steer the club to even greater heights,” he said.
He will be deputized by Mr. Godfrey Bamwenda, a former President himself, who highlighted their shared passion for football as the motivation behind their return.
“We love football a lot, and that is one of the reasons we have come back into leadership,” Bamwenda said.
The new term comes at a time of high expectations for Kitara. The club has risen steadily over the past two seasons, winning the Uganda Cup and featuring on the continental stage.
This season, they opened their campaign with a draw against KCCA, a reminder of the competitive challenges ahead.
Kasozi pledged to focus on strengthening the club across all departments while keeping fans central to its journey.
“As it was before, I will serve Kitara to the best of my ability. My goal is to build the club in every department, and of course, never forget our fans,” he said.
Each leadership term at Kitara runs for three years, after which new leadership is sought. With Kasozi back at the helm and Bamwenda as his deputy, anticipation is high among supporters eager to see the club push for more success on and off the pitch.
“Fans have been incredible supporters of the club, and we intend to keep them at the heart of everything we do,” Kasozi added.
