Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya has been rewarded with an improved contract that includes a significant pay increase, cementing his status as one of Mikel Arteta’s key players.
The Spanish international finalized terms on the deal earlier this summer, though it has not been officially announced by the club.
While the contract’s length remains the same, expiring in 2028 with an option to extend, the new agreement elevates Raya’s wages above his previous reported £100,000-per-week.
Raya has proven to be an indispensable asset since replacing Aaron Ramsdale as number one.
He won the Premier League Golden Glove in the 2023/24 season and shared the accolade last term. The keeper’s value is underscored by his record of conceding a goal only every 114 minutes in the league, the best rate among top-flight keepers.
This improved deal is part of a broader club strategy focused on retaining key personnel, as Arsenal continues to pursue contract extensions for Jurrien Timber and Bukayo Saka.
