The Hoima City Arena, part of the larger Hoima City Stadium complex, will feature a high-performance parquet floor, the same standard used in elite international basketball facilities.
The parquet flooring, made from professional-grade hardwood is designed to provide optimal performance, durability, and player safety.
It includes a specialized subfloor system with resilient pads that absorb shock, ensuring consistent ball bounce, grip, and reduced strain on athletes’ joints.
The arena’s installation of parquet flooring brings the Hoima project even closer to completion.
The $129 million stadium is now in its final phase, with finishing touches ongoing across various sections, including the athletics track, swimming pool, and outdoor courts.
The entire complex remains closed to the public until its official commissioning in December, when President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is expected to inaugurate the facility during his visit to Bunyoro.
Once completed, the Hoima City Stadium, which features a 20,000-seater main stadium, 2,000-capacity indoor arena, semi-Olympic swimming pool, and training grounds, will serve as a premier sports and events hub ahead of Uganda’s co-hosting of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
