British number one Jack Draper has named Jamie Delgado as his new head coach as he prepares for the next season. Delgado is best known for coaching Andy Murray during his run to world number one in 2016.
Draper, the world number eight, will soon begin preparations in earnest, having played only one singles match since Wimbledon due to a left arm injury.
Delgado will cover the majority of weeks on tour, while James Trotman, who has been by Draper’s side for the past four years, will continue in a reduced role.
Under Trotman, Draper reached the world’s top four this year and won his first Masters 1000 event at Indian Wells.
The 23-year-old previously stated his preference for “one voice” and keeping things simple, a key reason for the new structure.
Delgado’s previous partnership was with Grigor Dimitrov, and he joins other former Murray associates, physio Shane Annun and fitness coach Matt Little, on Draper’s team.
Draper plans to make his comeback at the UTS Grand Final in London this December.
