UFC star Conor McGregor has accepted an 18-month ban for violating the promotion’s anti-doping policy after missing three attempted biological sample collections in 2024.
According to Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD), the 37-year-old Irish fighter failed to provide accurate whereabouts information for no-notice testing on three occasions last year.
CSAD reduced the suspension from 24 months, citing McGregor’s cooperation and injury circumstances.
The ban officially began on 20 September 2024 and will conclude on 20 March 2026.
McGregor has not competed since suffering a broken leg in July 2021.
The suspension timeline casts doubt on his potential return, especially after his recent claim to fight on the rumoured UFC White House card in June 2026—a claim UFC President Dana White has denied.
The news comes as McGregor deals with other issues, including being ordered to pay £206,000 in damages to Nikita Hand in November 2024 and announcing a break from social media this week.
