David Kamulindwa was crowned champion of the Stanbic Entebbe Open after a stellar showing at the Entebbe Golf Club on Wednesday, October 9.
The in-form golfer carded an impressive 7-under 277 over 72 holes to claim the title and a winner’s purse of Shs 6.7 million.
Kamulindwa’s consistency and composure stood out throughout the tournament, as he fended off stiff competition from a strong field. His closest challenger, Abraham Ainamani, finished six strokes behind to take second place and pocket Shs 4.5 million.
The victory adds another milestone to Kamulindwa’s growing list of achievements and underlines his status as one of Uganda’s most promising golfers.
“It’s been a great week for me. I’ve worked hard to improve my game, and this win means a lot,” Kamulindwa said after lifting the trophy.
In the amateur category, Joseph Cwinyaai continued his fine form, shooting a 3-under 210 over 54 holes to secure top honors and a Shs 3 million reward.
His composed display was widely praised by spectators and fellow players alike.
The Stanbic Entebbe Open drew elite golfers from across the region, wrapping up with a thrilling finish that highlighted the sport’s growing competitiveness in Uganda.
