Nottingham Forest are reportedly eyeing Sean Dyche as the top candidate to replace head coach Ange Postecoglou, whose position is in severe jeopardy after a seven-match winless start to the season.
The pressure on Postecoglou intensified following last Sunday’s 2-0 loss at Newcastle.
Sources indicate that Dyche, who has been out of work since January, is a serious contender.
Dyche, a former Forest youth player, offers a compelling package for the struggling club as Forest would not have to pay a fee to hire him, a significant financial factor after already sacking Nuno Espirito Santo this season.
Dyche also has a history with the club and lives close to Nottingham, making the move appealing to him.
His long-time coaching partners, Ian Woan and Steve Stone, are also former Forest favourites.
Postecoglou’s tenure, which began in September, is now hanging by a thread, with Dyche’s potential appointment contingent upon the Australian’s imminent dismissal.
