Expectant mothers and supporters turned up in big numbers at the NEC Grounds in Bugolobi on Sunday for the 2025 Corporate Run, but it was Emmanuel Ainebyoona’s message that stood out.
Speaking at the event, the Senior Communication Officer at the Ministry of Health emphasized the importance of antenatal care, urging pregnant women to attend all recommended checkups for their safety and that of their babies.
“We encourage all pregnant mothers to attend at least eight antenatal visits. It’s during these visits that health workers can identify and manage any issues that may affect the pregnancy,” Ainebyoona said.
He also announced that proceeds from the run—including mama kits and funds—will support Kabonero Health Center III in Bunyangabu District and Kiwangala Health Center IV in Lwengo District.
The annual run, held under the theme “Run for Expectant Mothers,” attracted hundreds of participants and was flagged off by Hon. Brig. Gen. Charity Bainababo, the Director of Women Affairs at the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), who served as the chief runner.
