Former Arsenal and England star Jack Wilshere has been appointed the new manager of League One side Luton Town, signing a three-year deal.
This is the 33-year-old’s first full-time managerial role, succeeding the sacked Matt Bloomfield.
Wilshere takes over the Hatters, who sit 11th in the third tier following back-to-back relegations from the Premier League.
Wilshere, who was with Luton as a boy, described the move as a “full-circle moment” and an honour to lead the club, which he praised for its “belief, unity, and hard work.”
He joins after spells managing Arsenal’s Under-18s and serving as a first-team coach at Norwich City. Former England left-back Chris Powell will join him as assistant manager.
Wilshere’s first match in charge will be a home game against Mansfield Town this Saturday.
