Barcelona star striker Robert Lewandowski is facing a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury and could miss the upcoming El Clásico against Real Madrid on October 26.
The 37-year-old, who scored for Poland on Sunday, is ruled out of this weekend’s La Liga game against Girona and next week’s Champions League tie against Olympiakos.
Barcelona stated he will be “sidelined, and his recovery time will depend on how the injury progresses.” Spanish media suggest he could be out for about four weeks.
Lewandowski joins several key players on the injury list, though forwards Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez have returned to training.
