Kyambogo University’s football team are excited as they prepare to host their first match on their newly upgraded home pitch.
The surface, revamped to meet top-level standards, marks a fresh chapter for the side eager to maintain their strong start in the 2025/26 University Football League.
Team captain Daniel Obote says the new pitch will help them play a more controlled and confident game.
“We had the zeal to play on the new pitch earlier, but it wasn’t ready. Now that it’s complete, it has given us a big morale boost and we can’t wait to play at our best,” he said.
The timing couldn’t be better for Kyambogo, who are coming off a 1-0 win over Busitema University that pushed them to the top of Group C with six points.
After returning from last year’s league ban, the team is determined to show they belong among the best.
Obote has called on the fans to rally behind them, promising an exciting season ahead.
“We’re ready to give our all. The new pitch is a symbol of a new beginning for us,” he added.
