Nottingham Forest is on the brink of naming Sean Dyche as their new manager, with the club hoping to conclude a deal on Monday.
Dyche has become the clear frontrunner following the sacking of Ange Postecoglou on Saturday—just 39 days into his tenure, making it the shortest permanent Premier League managerial reign ever.
Postecoglou’s dismissal came minutes after the 3-0 loss to Chelsea, leaving Forest in 18th place after a season of upheaval and only one win in eight games.
The former Everton and long-serving Burnley boss has held positive talks, improving his chances significantly.
While Forest also spoke with Roberto Mancini and admire Fulham’s Marco Silva, sources indicate Dyche is now the standalone candidate due to the financial and contractual difficulties surrounding Silva’s potential appointment.
Dyche, who was a youth player at Forest under Brian Clough in the late 1980s, is expected to be tasked with stabilising the struggling side.
