Wembanyama’s Dominant Return

Victor Wembanyama started the NBA season in spectacular fashion, dropping 40 points as the San Antonio Spurs crushed the Dallas Mavericks 125-92.

The 21-year-old Frenchman showed no rust following eight months out with injury, easily overshadowing the debut of Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg (10 points), the 2025 number one draft pick.

This marks the third-most points ever by an NBA debutant.

Elsewhere, OG Anunoby scored 24 points to help the New York Knicks beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 119-111, giving new head coach Mike Brown a victory in his first outing.
