Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confidently dismissed concerns over Mohamed Salah’s recent dip in form, stating the forward’s goal drought is “the last thing” he is worried about.
Despite the 33-year-old being last season’s top scorer, Salah has managed only three Premier League goals this term, coinciding with a difficult start for Liverpool following a substantial £415 million investment in new attacking talent.
“The last thing I worry about is Mo scoring goals again. He’s done that his entire life and I expect him to do that again,” Slot told reporters.
Salah, who has gone seven successive league matches without a non-penalty goal, was recently benched for a Champions League match.
Slot suggested that the squad upheaval—including the departure of right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid—could be contributing to the issue, as data shows Salah is receiving fewer touches and shots without his former partner.
The manager emphasized that Salah is a “human being” and is simply missing chances, but remains confident his star will soon rediscover his clinical form.
Salah may return to the starting line-up for Saturday’s match against Brentford due to an injury to new signing Alexander Isak.
