Sunderland clinched a dramatic 2-1 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, thanks to a stunning 94th-minute winner from winger Chemsdine Talbi.
Chelsea took an early lead in the 4th minute through Alejandro Garnacho’s first goal for the club. However, Wilson Isidor quickly equalized for the visitors in the 22nd minute.
The match looked set for a draw until substitute Brian Brobbery set up Talbi in the third minute of stoppage time, who converted from the edge of the box after a rapid counter-attack to seal all three points.
The victory moves Sunderland into second place in the Premier League, two points behind leaders Arsenal.
Chelsea, who would have gone second with a win, slip to seventh place, with analysis pointing to a “lacklustre” performance and a lack of cutting edge in attack.
