Ugandan football coach Asaph Mwebaze has intensified pressure on the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) to take decisive disciplinary action against Mbale Heroes FC, following the club’s failure to pay him UGX 11.4 million as directed by the Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC).
Through his legal team, Kasisia & Co. Advocates, Mwebaze filed a formal petition to FUFA’s Competitions Department on October 24, 2025, urging the federation to enforce the DRC’s ruling and hold Mbale Heroes accountable for their non-compliance.
The DRC decision, delivered on September 4, 2025, required Mbale Heroes to settle the outstanding amount within 45 days, a deadline that elapsed on October 18, 2025, without the club taking any action.
In their letter, Mwebaze’s lawyers expressed frustration over the club’s defiance and reminded FUFA of its obligations under Regulation 88 of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Code (2023 edition). The clause empowers the federation to execute rulings from its judicial organs, including the DRC and Appeals Committee, when a party refuses to comply voluntarily.
The petition calls for immediate sanctions against Mbale Heroes, starting with a suspension from all football activities, particularly their upcoming FUFA Big League match against Kataka FC on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Mbale City Stadium.
Copies of the appeal were also sent to the Uganda Football Coaches Association, Mbale Heroes FC, Kataka FC, and Mwebaze himself, signaling a public demand for transparency and enforcement.
If FUFA proceeds with disciplinary measures, Mbale Heroes could face a competition ban until they clear Mwebaze’s arrears, an outcome that might derail their ongoing league campaign and raise fresh questions about club governance and financial discipline.
