Ugandan rugby is mourning the loss of one of its true pioneers, Ronald Adigasi, who passed away on the morning of October 26, 2025, while on his way to work at the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA).
Adigasi was a founding member of Entebbe Mongers RFC and one of the key figures who helped establish rugby’s roots in Entebbe.
His tireless efforts to introduce and nurture the sport at Entebbe Secondary School inspired generations of players who would later represent their schools, clubs, and the national team.
On the national stage, Adigasi proudly donned the Uganda Rugby Cranes jersey and was part of the historic side that won the Rugby Africa Cup in 2007 in Madagascar, one of Uganda’s greatest rugby achievements.
Beyond his accomplishments on the field, Adigasi was remembered for his humility, leadership, and deep love for the game.
His passing leaves a deep void in the rugby community, but his influence endures through the many lives he touched both on and off the pitch.
The rugby fraternity has extended heartfelt condolences to his family, teammates, and friends.
