Matchday Five of the FUFA Big League wrapped up on Sunday with several exciting contests across the country.
Wakiso Giants delivered the standout performance of the weekend, storming to a 4–2 win over Nebbi Central at the Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo. Annest Ankunda bagged a brace, while in-form striker Bashir Mutanda and Issa Bugembe also got on the scoresheet for Baker Mbowa’s Purple Sharks. The win moves them to 10 points, just one behind league leaders Blacks Power. Samuel and William Muguromo netted Nebbi Central’s consolation goals.
At the Kyamate Stadium in Ntungamo, Kaaro Karungi picked up their first victory of the season, beating Onduparaka 3–0 courtesy of a Walter Lubangakene double and a Ronald Turyesima strike.
In the Mbale derby, Kataka edged Mbale Heroes 1–0 thanks to Marcus Akii’s decisive goal, while Soltilo Bright Stars defeated Kiyinda Boys by the same scoreline at the Betharm City Ground.
Elsewhere, Ntugasaze and Young Elephants played out a 1–1 draw, while Bunyaruguru United and Kigezi Homeboyz shared the spoils in a goalless encounter. The matches between Iganga United and Paidha Black Angels, and CATDA and Blacks Power, also ended 0–0.
