Tusker Lite has announced a partnership with the Gulu City Marathon ahead of its second edition, set for December 6, 2025, at Kaunda Grounds in Gulu.
The premium beer brand, known for energizing Uganda’s running and lifestyle events, is bringing its trademark vibrance to the northern city, promising runners and revelers an experience that blends fitness, fun, and culture.
Building on the success of the Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon held in Kasese in August, the brand aims to extend its influence in Uganda’s running scene by promoting active living and community connection.
According to Denise Nazzinda, Brand Manager for Tusker Lite at Uganda Breweries Limited, the collaboration reflects the brand’s commitment to uniting people through shared experiences.
“The Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon showed us that running can go beyond fitness to create community and unforgettable experiences. We want to carry that same energy to Gulu and elevate this marathon to new heights,” Nazzinda said.
The Gulu City Marathon, themed Running for Culture and Heritage, will feature a 42 km full marathon, 21 km half marathon, 10 km, and 5 km fun and family runs. Organised by the Great North Run Company, the event targets over 1,000 participants and aims to celebrate culture, health, and northern Uganda’s growing running culture.
The day will culminate in an after-party where Tusker Lite will host runners and fans to a VIP experience celebrating achievement and Gulu’s vibrant nightlife.
“For most marathons, people run in the morning and then head home. We want to make this one more than just a race. It’s going to be a celebration of individuality, progressiveness, and connection,” Nazzinda added.
All finishers will receive medals, while registered participants—at a fee of UGX 60,000—will get a customised event T-shirt and string bag.
The partnership marks another step in Tusker Lite’s growing support for Uganda’s fitness and lifestyle events, reinforcing its message of living boldly and celebrating life to the fullest.
