Victoria She Crocs, Victoria University’s basketball team, underlined their promotion push with a 57-44 win over Makerere Sparks in the FUBA Division 1 & 2 semi-finals at KIU Kansanga.
The Victoria She Crocs now lead 1-0 in the best-of-three series against the MUK Sparks in the women’s Division 1 semi-finals. In a tightly contested game, the She Crocs started strong, edging the first quarter 17-14. They maintained their rhythm to stretch the lead to 32-23 by halftime.
The university side carried that momentum into the second half. Thelma Delane Toskin posted a game-high 16 points and 7 rebounds, guiding her team to a 42-32 advantage in the third quarter before sealing the victory in the fourth. Sharon Kilyokya added 13 points, while Viola Nakazibwe chipped in 10 points and pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds.
For Makerere Sparks, Mercy Ageno led the charge with 11 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 assists. Florence Konga also scored 11 points, while Faridah Nakyanzi added 7.
Game 2 will take place at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, on Court One at midday.
