Patrick Vieira has departed his role as Genoa head coach by mutual consent, following the club’s winless start to the Serie A season, which currently leaves them bottom of the table.
The former Arsenal star, who took charge in November 2024, failed to secure a single league victory this campaign, registering six defeats in nine games. His only two wins came in the Coppa Italia.
Despite the recent struggles, Vieira had guided Genoa to safety last season, finishing 13th after taking over when they were 17th.
Genoa thanked Vieira and his staff for their dedication, while a source close to the coach indicated he initiated the discussions to part ways.
This marks Vieira’s fifth managerial departure since 2020, following spells at Nice, Crystal Palace, and RC Strasbourg.
