Kanabi Alex continued his unbeaten run in Season 4 of the Uganda Boxing Champions League on Saturday night, stopping Segawa William with a second-round knockout in the main event — though the finish didn’t come without controversy.
Kanabi dominated the opening round with cleaner punches and sharper movement.
In the second, he pinned Segawa in a corner and unleashed a flurry of body shots that eventually sent his opponent to the canvas.
Segawa’s corner protested immediately, claiming one of the punches had landed low, but replays later showed the blow was legal.
The win marks Kanabi’s fourth straight victory this season, strengthening his case for the Light Middleweight title fight scheduled for December 26.
The night featured over 20 bouts, with several impressive performances.
Batte Nuhu stopped Juuko Juma via referee stoppage in the second round, while Farahat Maninola overcame Kizira Anwar by RSC in the fourth.
In the women’s category, Brenda Muduwa earned a unanimous decision win over Sultan Mariam after a spirited contest.
