Former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Gary O’Neil is in discussions about a potential return to the club, less than a year after his sacking in December 2024.
Wolves are seeking a new head coach following the dismissal of Vitor Pereira on Sunday. O’Neil, 42, is a strong candidate, with initial talks reported as positive.
He is ready to manage again despite his previous departure and the club’s current winless streak after 10 Premier League games.
While O’Neil is a frontrunner, partly due to the high compensation required for other contenders like Middlesbrough boss Rob Edwards, he is not the only option.
Wolves are also speaking to at least one manager from the stable of agent Jorge Mendes.
