Jannik Sinner defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4), to win his first Paris Masters title and reclaim the World No. 1 ranking from Carlos Alcaraz.
The victory extended the 24-year-old Italian’s indoor hard court winning streak to 26 matches.
Sinner’s triumph moves him 250 points ahead of Alcaraz, guaranteeing that the race for the year-end World No. 1 will go down to the ATP Finals in Turin, starting November 9th.
Sinner won the title without dropping a set, marking him as only the fourth player in 35 years to achieve the feat.
He conceded the fewest games en route to the Paris title since the event switched to hard courts in 2007.
“The goal was to go day by day, trying to maximise my potential, which I have done,” Sinner said. “Now we recharge and hopefully be as ready as possible for Turin.”
