Former England captain David Beckham has been officially knighted by King Charles for his services to football and British society.
The 50-year-old was honored during a ceremony at Windsor Castle on Tuesday.
Beckham, who was joined by his wife Victoria and his parents, expressed immense pride, stating, “I couldn’t be prouder. I love my country.” His suit for the occasion was designed by Victoria and inspired by King Charles’s classic style.
Beyond his celebrated career with clubs like Manchester United and Real Madrid, and earning 115 caps for England, Beckham has been recognized for significant humanitarian work, including a decade-long partnership with Unicef, and his role in securing the 2012 London Olympics.
The knighthood follows his previous OBE award in 2003 and his recent appointment as an ambassador for the King’s Foundation in 2024.
