Former Tottenham and Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino, currently preparing the United States national team for the 2026 World Cup, says he is “missing” the Premier League and intends to return one day.
Pochettino described the Premier League as “the best league in the world” and the “most competitive.”
He stated that his primary goal upon returning would be to achieve the silverware he narrowly missed at Tottenham, where he reached the 2019 Champions League final.
He also praised the legacy of former Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, expressing surprise at his recent departure.
Regarding his current role, Pochettino noted the challenges of international management, particularly the limited time with players.
He stressed the importance of injecting a “culture of football” into the US team, confirming that the growth of MLS, aided by players like Lionel Messi, is helping to shift the country’s sporting focus toward “soccer.”
