Former NEC head coach Hussein Mbalangu is already drawing interest from several clubs across the region following his recent exit from the Uganda Premier League side.
Sources indicate that newly promoted Buhimba United Saints FC have made initial contact with the experienced tactician as they prepare for their debut top-flight campaign.
The club is reportedly keen to bring in a proven hand to steady their first season among Uganda’s elite.
URA FC are also monitoring Mbalangu’s situation closely amid growing uncertainty around head coach Alex Isabirye Musongola.
The Tax Collectors have endured a slow start to the season, and internal discussions have reportedly begun about potential replacements should the poor run continue.
Beyond Uganda, Rwanda’s Bugesera FC are said to be exploring the possibility of appointing Mbalangu, who remains one of the region’s most respected and tactically astute coaches.
Mbalangu’s stock remains high after guiding NEC to a second-place finish in the Uganda Premier League last season and reaching the 2024 Stanbic Uganda Cup final. His next move is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
