Namuwongo Blazers head coach Stephen Nyeko says his side has no plans of easing off after lifting their first-ever National Basketball League men’s title, promising an even stronger campaign next season.
Nyeko, who guided the Blazers to the long-awaited 2025 championship, said the success was built on years of discipline, teamwork, and hard lessons learned through setbacks.
“This win didn’t come easily,” he said. “It has been four years of hard work, learning, and pushing beyond limits. We’re not giving our competitors any dull moments. We’re already going back to the drawing board to make sure we defend this title next season.”
The 2025 crown capped a remarkable rise for the Namuwongo side, who have grown from league outsiders into national champions under Nyeko’s leadership.
With the first trophy finally secured, the Blazers now see themselves as the team to beat heading into the new campaign.
