The defining rivalry of the 2025 ATP Tour, dubbed ‘Sincaraz,’ reaches its climax at the season-ending ATP Finals in Turin, with Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner fighting for the prestigious year-end World No. 1 ranking.
The young stars have split all four Grand Slam titles this season, setting the stage for a dramatic finish.
Alcaraz, who holds a crucial 1,050-point lead over Sinner, is the favourite to secure the top spot for the second time. He will finish World No. 1 by reaching the final or by winning all three group matches.
Sinner must win the title and needs Alcaraz to lose a group match and not reach the final to finish number 1.
The contenders were drawn into separate groups, but face serious threats.
Alcaraz faces seven-time champion Novak Djokovic (whose attendance is pending), last year’s runner-up Taylor Fritz, and Alex de Minaur.
Sinner competes against two-time champion Alexander Zverev and American debutant Ben Shelton.
The final spot is TBD between Felix Auger-Aliassime and Lorenzo Musetti.
The stage is set in Turin for a fittingly intense final chapter to the 2025 tennis season.
