The Minister of State for Sports, Hon. Peter Ogwang, has confirmed that the newly completed Hoima City Stadium has achieved a perfect 5-star rating following an independent site assessment conducted on November 5, 2025.
According to the minister, the stadium’s pitch scored a full 115 out of 115 points, reflecting exceptional performance across all key parameters.
The evaluation assessed three core areas: Playing Quality, Physical Quality, and Turf Quality, all of which met international benchmarks.
Ogwang described the achievement as a landmark moment in Uganda’s sports infrastructure development, praising the collaboration between government agencies, the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), and the contractor, SUMMA.
“I thank all stakeholders, including the contractor SUMMA, for delivering this milestone facility that meets top-tier international standards,” Ogwang said.
The 5-star rating now positions Hoima City Stadium among the best football facilities in the region, strengthening Uganda’s readiness to host international matches and tournaments.
The development comes just days after FUFA confirmed that construction of the stadium had been completed and was awaiting final certification from CAF and FIFA before official handover to government.
