Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC climbed to the top of the FUFA Women Super League table after a 2-0 victory over She Corporate on Sunday, ending the Sharks’ unbeaten start to the season in a thrilling Matchday 6 encounter at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.
Forward Latifah Nakasi was the difference maker, scoring twice inside the opening 20 minutes to secure all three points for Kawempe.
Her first came seconds after kick-off, a sharp strike that caught the She Corporate defense off guard. She returned 18 minutes later with a calm finish to seal the result and claim the Player of the Match award.
The win moved Kawempe Muslim to 16 points, level with Kampala Queens but ahead on goal difference, while She Corporate slipped to third with 13 points.
Elsewhere, Asubo Ladies’ search for a first win of the campaign continued after they were held 2-2 by Olila High School. Mercy Nimunsima and Faiza Bint Ibrahim had Asubo in control, but Mary Allegonda Lotyang’s brace salvaged a point for Olila. Asubo remain 10th on 4 points, while Olila sit bottom with 3.
She Maroons edged Makerere University 2-1 to register their second victory of the season, and Amus College defeated Lady Doves 2-0 in Soroti, handing the Masindi side a third loss. Kampala Queens also beat St Noa 1-0 away, while Rines snatched a narrow 1-0 win over Uganda Martyrs.
