Uganda’s campaign at the 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh is shining brightly, thanks to swimmer Anna Gloria Muzito’s golden heroics and boxer Alfred Ojok’s grit in the ring. The team has so far collected four medals, with Muzito at the heart of Uganda’s success.
The in-form swimmer dominated the pool, winning gold in the 50m and 100m freestyle events before adding a silver in the 200m freestyle. Her impressive run has made her one of the standout athletes of the Games and lifted the spirits of Team Uganda.
Boxer Alfred Ojok added a bronze in the light heavyweight (80kg) category after a fierce contest, underlining Uganda’s enduring strength in boxing on the international scene.
The medal tally could still grow, with Jesse Ssengonzi set to compete in the 100m breaststroke final on Wednesday night.
A podium finish would further cement Uganda’s growing reputation as a force in aquatic sports.
