Express have named Richard Malinga as their new assistant coach, completing a reshuffle of the technical bench at Wankulukuku.
The seven-time Uganda Premier League champions confirmed that Malinga will work under newly appointed head coach Jimmy Kintu Mwera, who joined the club after a brief stint at Calvary FC.
Kintu replaces Badru Kaddu Mukasa, who departed to take up a role with NEC FC. The changes mark the start of a new chapter for the Red Eagles as they look to steady their form in the league.
Malinga, once a dependable right back for Entebbe Health and KCCA FC, brings significant experience from both youth and senior football. He has previously managed Mbale Heroes FC, worked with the KCCA Junior Team, and guided Mawokota Ssaza in the Masaza Cup.
Earlier this year, he led Buddo SS to victory in the USSSA Boys Football Championship after defeating St. Mary’s Kitende in the final at Ngora, cementing his growing reputation as one of Uganda’s brightest young coaches.
Express FC return to league action after the international break against Lugazi FC, where fans will get their first glimpse of the Kintu-Malinga partnership in charge.
