The 2025 National Basketball League season wrapped up in thrilling fashion at Lugogo Indoor Arena, with the Namuwongo Blazers and JKL Lady Dolphins lifting the men’s and women’s titles in a season energized by betPawa’s Locker Room Bonus initiative.
The Blazers ended City Oilers’ 12-year dominance after a decisive 68–55 Game Six victory on November 5, sealing the series 4–2 and signalling a major shift in Ugandan basketball.
Led by former Oilers stars Jimmy Enabu, James Okello, Tonny Drileba, and Ivan Muhwezi, the Blazers executed a historic run anchored by Joel Lukoji, who claimed both the Regular Season and Playoffs MVP awards sponsored by betPawa.
In the women’s division, the JKL Lady Dolphins edged the JT Lady Jaguars 69–68 on November 2 to secure their fifth national title.

Hope Akello delivered a commanding performance with 14 points, 18 rebounds, and 7 assists, earning her a fourth consecutive Playoffs MVP honour, also supported by betPawa.
Throughout the season, betPawa’s Locker Room Bonus transformed team motivation by rewarding every player and key technical staff with UGX 130,000 instantly after each win, a first in Ugandan basketball.

The model strengthened professionalism, accountability, and morale across the league.
With champions crowned and the sport’s culture growing stronger, betPawa’s continued commitment shows that true progress in the game begins where teams prepare for battle: in the locker room.
