Arsenal are reportedly leading the race to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi for £62 million, beating out Premier League rivals Manchester United.
Despite spending heavily last summer, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta sees the 23-year-old German international as the “ideal right-wing upgrade” for Reiss Nelson, according to TEAMtalk.
Adeyemi’s potential exit is fueled by a “strained” relationship with Dortmund coach Niko Kovac, highlighted by a recent incident where Adeyemi threw a drinks bottle after being substituted.
Dortmund is demanding at least £62 million for the versatile attacker in the January transfer window.
The interest from Manchester United is described as “fierce,” but Arsenal currently appears to be in the lead.
