Tom Dradriga advanced to the men’s 1500m final at the Islamic Solidarity Games after placing fourth in his heat on Monday. He posted 06:42.37 in a race controlled by Morocco’s Anass Essayi, who won the section in 05:59.53.
The second heat produced the quickest marks of the day, led by Hafid Rizqy of Morocco in 05:51.52.
Dradriga’s progression gives Uganda its first athletics finalist of the competition and adds to the momentum of a campaign that already includes six medals, with two gold, one silver, and three bronze.
Athletics began on Monday in Riyadh, where the Games are entering their busiest phase.
The men’s 1500m final will be held on Wednesday 19 November at Prince Faisal Bin Fahad Stadium.
