The six-day championship features both individual and team events, with a total prize purse of USD 75,000. Individual winners will pocket USD 3,000, while the top-performing team will take home USD 4,000.

USRA General Secretary, Shiffah Natambi, lauded the government’s support through the National Council of Sports (NCS), calling the event a landmark moment for Ugandan squash.

“The Government of Uganda, through NCS, is proud to sponsor this historic championship. Hosting the first-ever continental squash championship is a huge achievement, and we’re excited for Team Uganda to shine on home soil,” she said.

USRA President, John Bosco Ahimbisibwe, also expressed appreciation to key stakeholders and encouraged fans to follow the action throughout the week.

“We invite everyone to experience the thrill of squash and be part of shaping the sport’s future in Africa,” he noted.

Alongside the competition, the championship will host an Annual General Meeting and a coaching course, enriching what is expected to be a memorable and transformative week for the sport at the Pearl of Africa Hotel.
