The Ugandan football community is mourning the passing of former Uganda Cranes and SC Villa midfielder Ismail Kigozi who passed away on Monday.
FUFA president Moses Magogo led the condolences to the family and praised Kigozi as a player who shaped a generation of talented Ugandan footballers.
Kigozi built his reputation at Masaka LC before earning a move to SC Villa, where he was part of the squad that won the Uganda Premier League title in 2004.
He later featured for URA and represented the Uganda Cranes.
Known for close control, creativity, and a direct approach in possession, he was regarded as a midfielder who could change the rhythm of a match and energize those around him.
Magogo noted that Kigozi inspired younger players through his commitment and personality both on and off the field.
Kigozi will be laid to rest at 4 PM today in Bombo.
