Kabalega Rally 2025: Title Race Takes Center Stage in Hoima

Uganda’s rally season reaches a critical point this weekend as the Kabalega Rally returns to Hoima from November 21 to 23, bringing the top three contenders into direct competition with the championship on the line.

The event is one of the country’s key fixtures and its demanding terrain is expected to shape the final stretch of the title race.

Ronald Ssebuguzi enters the rally with 294 points and a narrow advantage in the standings. The three-time national champion has been steady throughout the season and arrives in Hoima needing another controlled drive to keep his lead intact.

Musa Ssegabwe follows at 241.5 points after a breakout campaign that has pushed him deep into contention in his first full season.

His pace has made him one of the year’s main storylines and a strong result in Hoima would intensify his push for an unlikely championship run.

Reigning champion Ponsiano Lwakataka sits close behind at 235 points and remains a threat as the season nears its close.

Known for staying in range and striking late, he heads into the weekend needing a clean and efficient performance to stay in the hunt.

The Hoima stages are expected to play a major role in determining momentum as the season enters its final phase. The technical route is unforgiving and rewards precision as much as raw speed, with small errors likely to carry heavy cost in such a tight title battle.

Organizers have strengthened safety planning for the weekend, with experienced marshals and technical teams set across all stages. Full route details will be shared with fans in advance to help manage crowd positioning and keep the competition running without disruption.

With the championship picture finely balanced, the Kabalega Rally 2025 is poised to deliver one of the most influential weekends of the season as Uganda’s top drivers chase control of the standings heading into the final stretch.
