Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany personally called former Manchester United winger Antony late on the final day of the transfer window, attempting a last-minute coup.
Antony, who recently moved to Real Betis, revealed the call came around 11 PM and made him “hesitate a lot” due to the prestige of Bayern and Kompany’s personal pitch.
However, the Brazilian ultimately turned down the offer, citing loyalty to Betis.
“I had agreed everything with the club, I gave them my word,” Antony stated, noting his happiness and family considerations in Spain.
