Guinness Matchday on Tour made its first stop at the IUEA Sports Ground in Kansanga on Sunday as the SMACK League staged matchday five, turning the venue into a full Premier League fan zone.
The arrival of the Guinness Matchday truck gave supporters a complete Super Sunday experience. Fans watched the Premier League schedule on the giant screen, starting with Aston Villa’s 2 to 1 win over Leeds, before the highly anticipated Arsenal vs Tottenham clash.
With Liverpool and Manchester City having dropped points the day before, the derby carried extra weight for Arsenal. The Gunners took control early and never let go. Leandro Trossard opened the scoring and Eberechi Eze delivered a standout hat trick, the first in this fixture since 1978. Richarlison pulled one back for Spurs, but the day belonged to Eze.
Guinness Brand Manager Denise Nazzinda said the tour was designed to raise the fan experience at every stop. She noted that the aim was to take Premier League action directly to supporters wherever they gather.
Local action kept the crowd engaged throughout. Phantomz beat Lycans 3 to 0, Vulcans edged Vikings 2 to 1, Outkasts drew 1 to 1 with Zuluz, and Elite continued their strong form with a 5 to 2 win over Devils.
Ava Peace headlined the entertainment lineup, backed by Kezerod and the band, along with a rotation of DJs that kept the atmosphere lively from midday to evening.
SMACK League Chief Marketing Officer David Kawooya said the event marked a new benchmark for the competition. He added that each matchday aims to introduce something fresh for fans.
The league returns on December 7 for matchday six.
