The Uganda U17 women’s team has entered a decisive phase in its World Cup buildup after opening a residential training camp at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.
The group of 35 players reported on November 22 for a five day program that will shape selections for the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers in January 2026.
Head coach Sheryl Ulanda Botes and assistant coach Collines Ahumuza are using the camp to run assessments, tighten combinations, and set the tactical plan for the final stretch.
The schedule is built around technical sessions, conditioning work, and structured drills aimed at sharpening decision making and rhythm across the squad.
The camp also doubles as an opportunity for players to settle in, compete for roles, and grow cohesion before the match window.
With qualifiers approaching, the technical team is focused on ensuring the group enters January with clear structure, improved chemistry, and competitive edge.
