URA have confirmed the exit of head coach Alex Isabirye after a difficult stretch of results, bringing his second spell at the club to an abrupt close.
The club described the decision as mutual and noted that several members of his backroom staff have also departed.
Second assistant coach Baker Kasule, goalkeeping coach Damba Jamil, and third assistant coach Patrick Asiku Crespo have all left their roles.
Their departure follows the club’s narrow two to one defeat to KCCA on Friday, a result that appears to have accelerated internal discussions about a new direction.
Isabirye returned to URA last season with hopes of reviving the team’s competitive edge.
His tenure, which began in May 2023, produced 36 matches with 17 wins, nine draws, and 10 losses.
Despite the mixed results, he remains one of the most experienced coaches in Ugandan football, having previously led Vipers SC, Express FC, BUL FC, Soana, Kyetume FC, Nyamityobora, and Horseed SC of Somalia.
URA is expected to announce a new head coach later this week. Early signals around the club point to Hussein Mbalangu as the leading candidate to take over the role.
