Kaizer Chiefs have renewed their interest in Uganda Cranes striker Steven Mukwala as they look to strengthen their attack ahead of the January window.
Mukwala, who leads the Cranes line and currently plays for Simba SC in Tanzania, was first linked with Chiefs at the start of the season.
At the time, reports in Tanzania indicated that coach Nasreddine Nabi had travelled to Dar es Salaam to push for the deal. No agreement was reached and Mukwala stayed with Simba.
Sources in Tanzania now indicate that Chiefs have returned for the 26 year old.
The club is exploring a January move and Simba are understood to be open to selling if a suitable offer arrives.
Mukwala has built a solid club career across East Africa.
He came through Vipers in the Ugandan Premier League before spells at Maroons FC and URA FC, then spent a season in Ghana with Asante Kotoko before joining Simba.
