URA have placed Edward Golola in interim charge after parting ways with head coach Alex Isabirye on Monday.
Golola steps up from his assistant role and will lead the team into Wednesday’s league match against Buhimba Saints United at Nakivubo.
Isabirye left with his full technical team, but the club chose to retain Golola on a temporary basis while it continues its search for a permanent replacement.
The shortlist is already forming, with former NEC coach Hussein Mbalangu and ex-Uganda Cranes boss Morley Byekwaso emerging as the front-runners.
Mbalangu is currently unattached, while Byekwaso last guided the national team to the CHAN 2025 quarterfinals.
URA sit 11th on the table with 8 points, and the club hierarchy is expected to move quickly as it looks to stabilise performances and lift the team out of its slow start.
