The I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series wraps up its 2025 campaign this Saturday at Entebbe Club with the fifth and final event of the season.
The finale arrives shortly after a large Ugandan contingent featured in the cross-border Virunga Challenge in Kigali, where more than two hundred golfers competed and Rwandan players dominated the top places.
This weekend’s event follows the series’ online Daily Trivia warm-up, with the top quiz performer due for recognition during the prize-giving ceremony.
Katogo Captain Elly Kibuka Mukasa said the finale caps what he called a fulfilling year for the series and thanked golfers and sponsors for their consistency across all events, including the Kigali outing.
I&M Bank, the title sponsor, said the series has grown into one of the most prominent tournaments on the Uganda Golf Union calendar. The bank noted its pride in supporting an event that has expanded beyond Uganda’s borders and continues to attract strong participation.
Saturday’s round will be played using the In Regulation format. Players must reach the green in the required number of strokes for each hole, with penalties applied for missed greens unless the player still rescues par or better.
The format rewards accuracy from the tee, disciplined approach shots, and sharp short-game skills.
A wide selection of prizes will be on offer. Top men and ladies, group podium finishers, and side bet winners will receive trophies, vouchers, golf gear, travel packages, and more. Victoria Motors has again placed a Mitsubishi Xpander as the hole-in-one prize.
The 19th hole event will feature crooner Elijah Kitaka, who will headline a shades of blue themed evening with songs such as Daily Bundle, Ekyange, Good Idea, and Dawa. Comedian Patrick Idringi Salvado will host the program.
The series is supported by Johnnie Walker, Victoria Motors, GA Insurance, Rwanda Air, Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa, Kampala Serena Hotel, Fenon Events, Goldmans Luxury, NBS Sport, Case Hospital, and Time Cop Security.
