Uganda’s campaign at the 2025 ICC Women’s T20 Emerging Nations Trophy in Bangkok ended with defeat in the seventh match against the Netherlands.
Netherlands beat Uganda by six wickets on Sunday morning at the Terdthai Cricket Ground. The Dutch won the toss and elected to bowl first, thereby restricting the Victoria Pearls to a total of 111 runs in the first innings.
This was the Victoria Pearls’ best batting performance in defeat at the tournament and their second best overall. Stephanie Nampiina (21 off 33) and Proscovia Alako (34 off 29, including 19 in the final over) pushed the Victoria Pearls over the 100-mark with a defiant fight-back against the Dutch bowlers.
In the second innings, the Victoria Pearls threw everything they could at the Netherlands, but the little bit of hope which had grown dwindled fast. Two wickets fell in the first two overs but the power play ended 50 for 2.
Netherlands cruised to the 100-mark in the thirteenth over and got the job done in the next with six wikcets to spare.
